Discover Turkey’s stunning countryside and scenery on a full-day tour to Sapanca Lake, Masukiye and Darica Zoo from Istanbul.
Your coach will collect you from your central Istanbul hotel around 08:30 for 1,5hrs drive to Darica Faruk Yalcin Zoo and Botanic Park in the northwestern province of Kocaeli (approx. 61km/38miles east of Istanbul). This conservation center is home to around 200 different species of animal, hundreds of different types of plants, an aquarium, and a petting zoo.
In winter season, outdoor animal viewing is closed due to weather conditions and visit to Darica Zoo is replaced with a drive up to Mount Kartepe, which is a ski resort in winter time, to enjoy stunning views across Lake Sapanca. You can choose to ride the chair-lift to the peak of the mountain (additional charge).
Next, you’ll drive an hour to Sapanca Lake, where you can enjoy a relaxing stroll or pedalling water cycling along its scenic shores and admire the villages and mountains reflected in its fresh waters. The area isa popular weekend and day retreat for stressed out city dwellers, offering peace and quiet in natural beauty.
Then explore the pretty lakeside village of Masukiye, where you’ll enjoy a traditional Turkish lunch consisting of all organic stuff under a canopy of trees beside a waterfall. After lunch hop back in the car and drive to see Masukiye waterfall.
You’ll get back on the coach around 18:00 to return to Istanbul, on the way we will stop to rest or shop, in the confectioners for famous local produces, arriving back at your hotel around 20:30.
