PICK UP TIME & TRANSFER:
Pick-up from your hotel and drive to the spot for check-in very early in the morning, about 45 minutes before the sunrise, as the wind is not very fast, there are no thermals yet and it is not too hot. Some snacks are offered before the take-off. Our take-off site may change anytime according to wind speed and direction to show you the most spectacular valleys and hills of Cappadocia.
THE JOURNEY:
At the spot, you can see the expansion of the balloon and take pictures. After you get some necessary security instructions, the balloon is finally ready to take off. It will start to rise in the sky under the control of your certificated pilot. The height of our journey will be up to 500 meters from the ground, however, when the wind is calm we can rise to 1000 meters. Our distance traveled is often between 5 to 18 km depending on the wind speed.
Most of the time we take off just around the sunrise and fly during the Golden Hour for photography. Needless to mention that this should not be taken for granted in advance by the participants as they sometimes might have to take off later due to weather conditions that coincide with the exact time of sunrise.
WHO CAN NOT FLY!
Children under 6 years old and pregnant guests can not fly as they are not officially allowed.
WHAT TO WEAR!
Wear long trousers and tops with long sleeves, preferably made from natural fibers and suitable footwear for outdoor activity. Having layers is a good idea as it is cold at the beginning and might get warmer at a later stage.
THE HOT-AIR BALLOON CANCELLATION CONDITIONS:
By the strict regulations of civil aviation authorities, the flight will be canceled if the ground wind is faster than 10 knots, and during heavy rain or fog. In the case of tour cancellations due to inappropriate weather conditions, True Blue Travel Agency will return 100% of the fees.
Cancellation Policy Details:
• Following the strict regulations of civil aviation authorities, the flight will be canceled if the ground wind is faster than 10 knots, and during heavy rain or fog. In the case of tour cancellations due to inappropriate weather conditions, True Blue Travel Agency will return 100% of the fees. or provide the opportunity to take the next day’s flight depending on the availability.
• 100% of the total fee is applied as a penalty, in case of cancellations for personal reasons 72 hours before the flight day.
The participants should give written notice of cancellation, which will be effective on the date the written notification is received.
• Changes: Last minutes changes cause a lot of problems and extra expenses for us. However, we always do our best to assist our esteemed clients to comply with their last-minute requests. In the case of tour date changes before 24 hours, 30 euros per person is charged as a penalty.
• If the cancellations/changes are made due to obligatory reasons like force majeure situations beyond the control of the participants, our company can be flexible on this issue or may waive cancellation charges depending on the situation.
