KIZILCUKUR (Red & Rose Valley): The day starts with a hike along the most breathtakingly and mysteriously beautiful valleys in the region. The valleys, with their fabulous volcanic rock formations, are in the heart of Cappadocia but well away from the mainstream tourist haunts. Our hike will end in Cavusin Cave Village, we will see a rock castle and troglodyte dwellings where people lived until the 20th century. It is always possible to meet villagers, working in the area and kindly offer grapes, apples, or apricots to people.
CAVUSIN: One of the oldest settlements in the area, it is situated 2km from Göreme, on the Göreme – Avanos road.
The Church of St. John the Baptist and its paintings date back to the 5th century, making it the oldest church in the region. It offers a panoramic view of the village and had a large courtyard which is unusual for Cappadocia, this has been eroded, however.
KAYMAKLI: Kaymakli and Derinkuyu underground cities are the two largest and deepest of the 40 others in Cappadocia. They both have eight floors, although not all are open to the public.
PIGEON HOUSE: Visit of the pigeon houses and rock formations.
