Why This Tour

What sets this journey apart

01

Only Selected Small Group Departures

This is not a frequently operated group tour. Only selected number of departures are offered annually, creating a more intimate atmosphere, greater attention to detail and a sense of rarity from the moment the journey begins.

02

Türkiye’s Finest Addresses

Stay at two destination-defining properties: The Peninsula Istanbul and Museum Hotel Cappadocia, or carefully selected equivalents of comparable standing. Each hotel is an essential part of the journey rather than simply a place to stay.

03

Access Beyond the Ordinary

Private yacht cruising, rare rooftop perspectives, artisan encounters, refined dining and carefully timed visits reveal places and experiences that are not available through a standard sightseeing itinerary.

04

Tailor-Made by Local Experts

Beyond the scheduled departures, the journey can be recreated privately around preferred dates, suite categories, dining priorities, mobility needs and personal interests, supported by True Blue Tour’s local expertise since 2001.

The Experience

What this journey feels like

This journey feels like being invited into Türkiye rather than simply passing through it. Mornings begin slowly, with the city or landscape unfolding beyond the windows of an exceptional hotel. Days are shaped around private access, thoughtful encounters and the freedom to absorb each place without being rushed from one landmark to the next.

In Istanbul, the experience moves between imperial monuments, hidden rooftops, Bosphorus views and contemporary gastronomy. In Cappadocia, the rhythm changes completely: cave suites, silent valleys, family workshops and ancient settlements reveal a world formed by both nature and human imagination. More than a luxury itinerary, this is a journey defined by atmosphere, access and the feeling that every detail has been considered.

“The whole city was a palace, or rather, a fantasy.”

- Pierre Loti, French writer and traveler

Day by Day

Your 7-day itinerary

Istanbul

Your journey begins where continents, empires and the Bosphorus meet.

Arrive in Istanbul, where Europe and Asia meet across one of the world’s most captivating waterways. You will be welcomed at the airport and privately transferred to The Peninsula Istanbul, or a comparable luxury property, with time to settle into your surroundings. The remainder of the afternoon is deliberately unhurried. Rest after your flight, enjoy the hotel’s facilities or take a first walk along the waterfront. In the evening, meet your guide and fellow travelers over a carefully selected welcome dinner. The setting introduces both the hospitality and contemporary culinary character that will shape the journey.

Stay Istanbul, The Peninsula Istanbul Hotel 5* Meals Welcome Dinner

Walk through centuries of empire before dining beneath the city.

Enjoy a leisurely morning at the hotel before beginning a privately guided exploration of Istanbul’s historic peninsula. Visit the Blue Mosque and examine the architectural dialogue between the city’s Byzantine and Ottoman legacies. Pause before Hagia Sophia, whose silhouette has defined Istanbul for nearly fifteen centuries, before continuing into the Grand Bazaar. Beyond its trading halls, gain access to a rarely visited rooftop perspective overlooking the domes, minarets and layered skyline of the Old City. As evening falls, experience a private or specially arranged dinner within an atmospheric Roman cistern setting. Complete the night with an after-hours-style visit to the Basilica Cistern, subject to operating permissions and final arrangements.

Stay Istanbul, The Peninsula Istanbul Hotel 5* Meals Breakfast, Dinner

See the city from the water, through its neighborhoods and around the table.

Begin aboard a private yacht, cruising the Bosphorus as Ottoman waterfront mansions, palaces, fortresses and waterside neighborhoods unfold between Europe and Asia. Continue on land through Taksim and Cihangir, where nineteenth-century architecture, independent galleries, design boutiques and café culture reveal a more contemporary and creative side of Istanbul. Visit the Museum of Innocence, inspired by Nobel Prize-winning author Orhan Pamuk, before continuing to the Spice Bazaar, where teas, spices, sweets and regional ingredients reflect centuries of trade. In the evening, experience modern Anatolian cuisine through a refined tasting menu that reinterprets regional ingredients and culinary traditions with contemporary technique.

Stay Istanbul, The Peninsula Istanbul Hotel 5* Meals Breakfast, Dinner

Beyond Istanbul’s skyline, another world begins.

Enjoy a relaxed final morning in Istanbul, with time to make use of the hotel or explore independently. Later, transfer privately to the airport for the included business-class flight to Cappadocia. Upon arrival, continue to Museum Hotel, or a comparable destination-defining property, set among the volcanic landscape of Uçhisar. The evening is at leisure. Settle into your cave or stone suite, enjoy the panoramic terraces and watch the light change across the valleys before dining at the hotel or one of the region’s leading restaurants.

Stay Cappadocia, Museum Hotel or similar Meals Breakfast

Some places are best understood from the sky, others from beneath the earth.

An optional private or premium hot air balloon flight may be arranged at sunrise, weather permitting and subject to availability. After breakfast, descend into Kaymaklı Underground City, an extraordinary network of tunnels, chapels, storage rooms and living spaces carved beneath the volcanic rock. Continue with a light guided walk around Çavuşin, where cave dwellings, rock-cut churches and panoramic viewpoints reveal the scale and texture of the landscape. In Avanos, enter a family-run atelier for a private pottery masterclass. Learn techniques shaped by generations of craftsmanship before trying the potter’s wheel yourself. Conclude the day with a curated tasting of Cappadocian wines beside the Kızılırmak River or in a private cellar setting, depending on the final departure arrangements.

Stay Cappadocia, Museum Hotel or similar Meals Breakfast, Wine Tasting

Every valley, village and stone reveals another chapter of Anatolia.

Begin at the Göreme Open-Air Museum, where rock-cut monasteries and Byzantine frescoes reveal Cappadocia’s spiritual heritage. Continue to Paşabağ, known for the region’s most iconic fairy chimneys, before visiting Uçhisar and the dramatic rock fortress that rises above the surrounding valleys. Later, explore Ortahisar, where stone houses, narrow lanes and a quieter village atmosphere offer a more intimate view of local life. As evening falls, gather for a farewell dinner at one of Cappadocia’s finest restaurants. Contemporary Anatolian cuisine and regional wines bring the journey to a memorable close.

Stay Cappadocia, Museum Hotel or similar Meals Breakfast, Farewell Dinner

Leave Cappadocia slowly—or allow the journey to continue.

Enjoy breakfast and a final morning overlooking Cappadocia’s extraordinary landscape. At the appropriate time, transfer to Kayseri or Nevşehir Airport for your onward flight. Travelers may also extend their stay in Cappadocia or continue privately to another region of Türkiye. The scheduled journey ends in Cappadocia. Tailor-made versions may include onward flights, Istanbul accommodation, a private extension or additional destinations according to the final travel design.

Before You Book

Good to Know Before You Book

This is a high-end signature journey offered on only two scheduled departures each year. The small number of departures allows hotel inventory, private access, dining arrangements and specialist services to be coordinated at a consistently high level. Space is intentionally limited. The itinerary combines private or highly curated experiences with leisurely mornings and time at exceptional hotels. Certain special arrangements—such as rooftop access, cistern dining or after-hours-style visits—depend on permissions, venue operations and final departure dates. Where an exact arrangement becomes unavailable, a comparable high-level alternative will be provided.

Is this journey right for you?

This journey is designed for travelers who place a high value on exceptional hotels, personalized service, thoughtful pacing and access beyond standard sightseeing. It is particularly well suited to couples, celebratory travelers, first-time visitors seeking a refined introduction to Türkiye and repeat visitors who want to experience Istanbul and Cappadocia more deeply.

Some sightseeing involves cobblestones, historic stairways, archaeological surfaces, valley paths and underground passages. The private version can be adapted around mobility, preferred pace and personal priorities more extensively than the scheduled departures.
